THE MONGOLIAN GOVERNMENT HAS ADOPTED A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE AID MEASURES TO SUPPORT ECONOMY DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
On December 13, 2020 The Government of Mongolia has adopted a resolution to help cushion the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Resolution, the state will cover the utility costs, such as electricity and thermal energy, water, common waste disposal service of households and businesses for 7 months (starting from December 1, 2020 to July 1, 2021) to help cushion the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the resolution excludes for the following entities:
1. State units;
2. State owned legal entities and legal entities with local property participation;
3. Mineral exploration and processing plants;
4. Bank and non-bank financial institutions;
5. Person or a legal entity which conducts activities related to cryptocurrency;
6. Petroleum production, import and sales license holders;
7. Internet and telecommunications license holders;
8. Alcohol and cigarette production license holders;
9. Non-ferrous and ferrous metal and cement plants.
Moreover, the Government has decided the price of processed fuel to be decreased for 25%-75% for the residents of ger districts in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar during the period of December 3 2020 to April 1, 2021.
